Executive Biographies
Sunil Sivanand
Managing Director and Chief Technology Architect
Sunil Sivanand is Managing Director and co-founder of Acette Technologies. Sunil has over 26 years experience in the Information Technology industry and extensive experience in managing I. T. projects for development and implementation of Banking and Financial Services systems. A near decade of heading the I. T. Division at the National Bank of Oman where he was responsible for seeing the bank transform the I. T. infrastructure to a state-of-art environment, building a full fledged technology team to support with in-house development and integration capabilities and driving the development of an I. T. strategy and seeing it through implementation at the bank. Sunil Sivanand also played a very active role in the setting up and running of the Al-Watani ATM switch in Oman and participated in the Central Bank Clearing house Automation project.
Sunil Sivanand has also been the Project Director at the Central Bank of U. A. E., for a new national payment infrastructure project. He also played a major role in the national ATM and EFTPOS switch for Nepal, where he had to deal with some unusual challenges as the country�s banking system and people were being introduced to electronic payments for the first time. He also project managed the first VISA EMV acquiring project in the Middle-East region that was done in the U. A. E.
Sunil Sivanand has a master’s degree in Computer Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay and a master’s degree specializing in Semiconductor Electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras. He has also undergone the Senior Executive Management programme at the London Business School.
Sujit Sivanand
Deputy Managing Director and Head of Consulting
Sujit Sivanand is Deputy Managing Director and co-founder of Acette Technologies. Sujit is a full time Executive Director responsible for the Consulting Division of the firm. Sujit is also responsible for Acette’s global partner relations and the setting up of Acette’s entities and operations in new markets.
Prior to joining Acette as a full-time executive in mid-2004, Sujit had over 18 years of consulting experience in KPMG firms in the Middle-East region and was the Consulting Partner in KPMG Kuwait practice and Consulting Director in a GCC wide practice.
Sujit has partnered and managed a number of consulting assignments for the Government and Financial Sector clients in areas of information technology, financial management, risk management and human resources consulting. He has also carried out assurance engagements involving statutory, tax and operational audits. Sujit is a trained professional in Business Process Reengineering and Change Management.
Sujit Sivanand has an MBA degree and Diploma in International Business from University of Bristol, UK, and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, France, a Master’s degree in Financial Management and a Batchelor’s degree specializing in Cost Accounting.
Roji Jacob
Senior Manager and Head of Product Development
Roji Jacob is a Senior Manager at Acette. He is Computer Engineering Graduate with over 13 years’ experience in software development, programming and project management for the IT and Banking sector. He has successfully led the implementation of large EFT/POS/ATM VISA/MasterCard Debit/Credit cards (Banking) applications and management of automation projects for the National Bank of Oman.
Roji has project managed and implemented large IT projects including connectivity to major networks like MasterCard, VISA SMS, Oman Switch, UAE Switch, EBC switch, VISA Bas1-Base2, NDC Aptra implementation, upgrade of the ATM Controller system, Development of major modules of signature processing and forex on the front end automation system at the National Bank of Oman. He is adept in development and implementation of computer systems with skills in J2EE & J2ME environment and DOT NET and on Windows, UNIX, IBM AS/400 and IBM Websphere platforms.
Prior to Acette, Roji Jacob was heading the technical design team at Reliance Infocom in a project where a national level EFTPOS infrastructure was being planned for India.
Ramnathan Subramanian
Resident Director – North American Operations
Ramnathan is currently based in Toronto, Canada and is the Resident Director responsible for Acette’s North American operations. Ramnathan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the U. S. and is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He is a science graduate and also has Postgraduate Diploma in Export Finance from International Association of Export Finance in London, U.K.
Ramnathan is Director for Information Risk Management services at Acette Technologies and has over 27 years of experience in the banking and finance industry with particular relevance to information technology. Ramnathan has been part of several project teams involved in large-scale I. T. implementation projects in banks. He has expertise associated with controls for computer system and information network systems. He has played a major role in the implementation of the I. T. strategy at the National Bank of Oman in Oman and at the Indian Overseas Bank in India.
Ramnathan has expertise on international payment system, such as SWIFT and straight through processing (STP) activities that banking and financial institutions are now placing much attention for enhancing customer services deliveries.
Rajaram Ramachandran
Manager – Development Centre
Rajaram Ramachandran is a Manager at Acette and is responsible for product development in the areas of SMS messaging, Customer Loyalty and Financial Reconciliation. Rajaram has over eight years experience in the IT industry serving large organizations like the National Bank of Oman and Tata Consultancy Services. He has extensive experience in front-end retail branch banking systems and messaging applications used in banks and financial institutions. He is an expert on Microsoft .NET development and on IBM MQ Series messaging applications.
